Welcome to Milwaukee!

Your Hospitality Team is made of local Midwest Chapter, WHSLA and SWHSL members who are excited to show off Milwaukee to you!  A member of our team will be located at the registration booth during the conference and we will all be wearing green buttons, so flag us down with any questions/concerns about Milwaukee or our hospitality events.   The weather forecast calls for upper 50’s and low 60’s and some rain during the conference, so please plan accordingly. It can be just as windy downtown as the Windy City to our South.

Our optional walk to Oktoberfest on Saturday evening at 7:15 pm will take place even if moderately raining.  Those interested can gather in the Hyatt lobby. There are a number of restaurants along the way and at the district so you can choose to dine indoors. We will plan to walk to Pere Marquette Park to take in some of the Oktoberfest events there, and then depending on weather and group consensus continue up Old World Third Street to the Fiserv Forum to experience the “Fear District”.  We do have maps available for those who prefer to walk directly to the “Fear District”.  You can obtain those at the hospitality/registration booth.

Pack Your Bags!

The Midwest Chapter/MLA Annual meeting is less than a week away!

Here are some suggestions on what to pack:

Bring layers

Milwaukee went from 56 degrees to 85 degrees this past Sunday to Monday. According to the weather service, it will feel like fall this weekend with temperatures around 50-60 degrees. It’s usually a little cooler and windier downtown due to the proximity to the lake.

Be casual

As in past years, this is a “jeans and khakis” conference. Wear what feels comfortable, whether that be your favorite weekend jeans, or your more standard business casual attire. The social events are all casual affairs. Continue reading “Pack Your Bags!”
