Statement of Conduct

The Midcontinental and Midwest Chapters of MLA Conference Planning Committee are committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment for all conference attendees, presenters, and affiliated partners. Therefore, all conference attendees agree to refrain from harassing others or creating a hostile environment in any way, including on the basis of age, color, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, genetic information, gender identity or orientation, ability or disability, physical appearance, religion or spiritual belief, military or veteran status, social economic class, professional status, or other group identity.

If you feel uncomfortable or harassed, you witness any violations of this policy, or if you have any questions, you can contact the planning committee at:

We work to ensure our events are accessible, inclusive and welcoming to all. In order to give us time to make appropriate arrangements, please make all accessibility requests to the Midcontinental/Midwest MLA DEIA Conference Planning Committee at

All conference speakers need to follow the instructions on the Information for Presenters web page to ensure their presentations are accessible.

The Conduct and Accessibility Statements are adapted from Academic Library Association of Ohio, American Library Association’s Statement of Appropriate Conduct, Association of College & Research Libraries conference website on accessibility, Miami University OEEO Prohibition of Harassment and Discrimination MUPIM policy, and the Midcontinental Chapter of MLA’s Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce Statement.
