Papers and poster submissions are being accepted for consideration for presentation at the Joint Meeting of the MCMLA and the Midwest Chapter/MLA, to be held October 12-16, 2007 in Omaha, NE.
Submissions should fall into one of the theme areas:
- Research: surveys, assessment, statistics, theories, overviews
- Teaching and learning: methods, strategies, models, one-on-one, classes, virtual
- Electronic information and delivery: collection development, e-books, databases, web technology
- Administration and support services: program development, ILL, document delivery
- Collaboration: librarian, faculty, staff, consortia, etc.
- Marketing and publicity: methods, achievements
A variety of presentation formats will be considered:
- Paper presentation: traditional lectured discussion (15 minutes)
- Panel discussion: prepared statements and discussion of various perspectives (60-90 minutes)
- Workshop: a short but intense overview of a specific topic that provides attendees with specific skills (60-90 minutes)
- Discussion group: prepared discussion points on a topic by a moderator interacting with the audience (30-45 minutes)
- Poster: poster board or electronic (1 hour poster session)
Submission Requirements
All abstracts must be submitted under the following criteria:
- Document format: .doc or .rtf
- 12 point font
- Title
- Authors and affiliation
- Theme and format (from the lists above)
- Abstract length: no more than 500 words
- Panel discussion, workshops, and discussion groups: specify specific talking points, activities, and perspectives
- Note any special equipment requirements
