Thirty-four participants attended the spring meeting of Ohio Health Sciences Library Association held on April 20, 2007 at the Medical Heritage Center of the Prior Health Sciences Library on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus. The CE course, “Geeks Bearing Gifts: New Technology Trends” presented by J. Dale Prince, Technology Coordinator of the NN/LM Southeastern Atlantic Region, began in the morning and was conducted in the computer lab. Prince delivered a “fun, fast-paced” hands-on introduction to today’s technology trends. Participants were encouraged to explore various websites related to RSS and received an overview of developments in mobile computing, blogs, wikis, and radio-frequency identification.
President Ximena Chrisagis conducted the business meeting in conjunction with the buffet luncheon. Following Clare Leibfarth’s update from the Ad Hoc Preliminary Planning Committee, it was announced that Bette Sydelko and Marlene Porter would be co-chairs for the 2009 Midwest Chapter Annual Conference to be held in October in Columbus. Outgoing executive leaders were recognized and thanked for their contributions to the organization in 2006-2007.
