Margaret Chappell is Reference/ILL Librarian at Kettering Medical Center, OH. Her main responsibilities include literature searches, article requests, and interlibrary loans. Margaret originally worked in public libraries, stating “After 12 years in public libraries, I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to make the switch to a hospital library setting in 2005.” She has an undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University and is a 2002 graduate of Kent State University’s School of Library and Information Science. Margaret’s home town is Wintersville, OH. Her hobbies and interests include music, movies, and sports, “especially Ohio State football.”

Brenda Fay is a librarian at the Hurwitz Medical Library, Aurora Sinai Medical Center, in Milwaukee, WI. She performs research for staff, patients, and families, orders medical and consumer health materials, and markets library services to the hospital and the public. She also serves on two Planetree Work Teams: Spirituality, and Patient Education and Information. Brenda states, “I’m really excited about bringing in more consumer health materials and marketing those to our community. Health and wellness information doesn’t have to be complicated or boring!” She received both her B.A. in Biological Aspects of Conservation and her MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This Menominee Falls, WI native was a children’s librarian for five and a half years before taking her current job, and states that while she misses “the frenzied activity of storytime, hugs from the kids, and decorating for summer reading programs,” she believes that her research, computer, people, and personal skills can be put to greater use as a medical librarian. Brenda adds, “My two favorite things are traveling and reading. Recently I’ve been to Japan and China and would like to go to Vietnam or Thailand in 2007 or 2008, although I might be able to hold out for MLA in Hawaii in 2009! My favorite reads are historical mysteries. Some authors on my bookshelves are Sujata Massey, Diana Gabaldon, Peter Tremayne, Anne Perry, Ellis Peters, Elizabeth Peters, and Fiona Buckley…I could go on but I won’t. I also play fiddle in the Irish traditional style. Milwaukee is a great place for Irish culture, events and music!”

Anna Fleming is Acquisitions Librarian at Galter Health Sciences Library of Northwestern University. She purchases materials in all formats for the library, serves on the collection management team, and coordinates licensing of electronic resources.
