We are settling in to our second week post Midwest Chapter/MLA meeting. What a great and crazy year + organizing and scheduling the conference. We hope that everyone involved was able to Navigate their way through the River of Information that was provided through five CE programs, NLM, GMR and MLA updates, GMR Technology forum, Health Information Practice Summit as well as the Contributed Papers and Poster presentations. We hope everyone was energized by our Keynote speaker, Michelle Kraft, and Plenary speaker, Sarah Houghton; I have to say there are a few things I have wanted to “put a bird on it”. Our special events were well attended, the Welcome reception combined with Exhibitors, Evening at the Museum and the Jump Simulation & Education Center OSF campus. We had approximately 175 registrants attend the conference and 26 vendors exhibit with even more that made monetary and raffle prize donations. We hope that new skills or projects were created out of the discussions and that everyone is energized!

The Health Science Information Section (HSIS) of the North Dakota Library Association held their spring meeting on May 17, 2013. We discussed bylaws changes, the GMR update and plans for the 2014 Midwest Chapter conference in Bismarck. Holly Ann Burt was our guest and taught the CE class, Public Health Information on the Web. The annual NDLA conference was a tri-conference this year with the Mountain Plains Library Association and the South Dakota Library Association. It was held in Sioux Falls, SD. Due to the small number of HSIS members attending, the fall HSIS business meeting was cancelled. Election results were announced. Ann Pederson, Altru Medical Center, Grand Forks, is our new chair. The secretary is Marcia Francis, UND SW Clinical Campus Librarian, Bismarck, and our GMR Regional Advisory Council (RAC) Representative is Ron Padot from the VA in Fargo.
