Submitted by Janna Lawrence, Midwest Representative to MLA Chapter Council
Do you have a colleague you admire whom you wish everyone knew about? Consider nominating them for a Medical Library Association award! MLA’s awards and honors recognize individuals at all levels, from the Rising Star Program, designed to give less experienced MLA members the skills needed to become a leader, to mid-career awards, like the Estelle Brodman Award for the Academic Medical Librarian of the Year and the Virginia L. and William K. Beatty Volunteer Service Award, to awards recognizing long-time service to the profession, including MLA Fellowships and the Marcia C. Noyes Award, MLA’s highest professional distinction, recognizing lasting and outstanding contributions to health sciences librarianship.
Descriptions of all of the many awards and honors MLA presents can be found at http://www.mlanet.org/p/cm/ld/fid=26. The deadline for all nominations, submissions, and supporting documents is November 1.
