Jane Blumenthal has been appointed to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) Board of Regents. Jane will serve a four-year term on the Board from 2016 to 2020. The NLM Regents advise the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, the Assistant Secretary, the Director of the National Institutes of Health, and the Director of the National Library of Medicine on policies and strategic planning for the library and on its extramural grant program.
Jane has also recently been chosen President-Elect of the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) and is a member of its Board of Directors from 2016 to 2019. AAHSL is comprised of academic health sciences libraries in the U.S. and Canada whose affiliated and accredited medical schools are members of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). AAHSL works to advance the role of health sciences libraries in education, research, patient care, and community service through its leadership and collaborative partnerships in health information, scholarly communication, and knowledge management.
