Tiffney A. Gipson

Tiffney A. Gipson is Head of Collections & Clinical Librarian at Kornhauser Health Sciences Library, University of Louisville. She says that her main responsibilities include maintaining resource collections for the Library, including “purchasing resources (books, eBooks, databases, and journals), monitoring cost and usage stats, and negotiating contracts with vendors.  I also manage the technical services department which consists of 3 employees.  I also provide clinical library services to the Pediatrics Infectious Disease department, maintain the medical mobile resources, and assist with internal marketing for the library.” She has a BA in Communications from the University of Louisville, and received her MSLS from the University of Kentucky this year.  Her hobbies and interests include photography, boxing, and sound engineering.  She adds, “I have been with Kornhauser Library for 13 years and have served in several different departments.  I work at a really great library, the staff here have always encouraged me to keep growing.  I recently presented at the Midwest MLA this past October on the importance of mentoring and how it impacts the next generation of librarians.  Much of my success in my career has been due to great mentors, I am happy to work in such an awesome library with amazing people.”


Theresa M. Kline is a Medical Librarian responsible for Reference and Education at the Floyd D. Loop Alumni Library at the Cleveland Clinic. Her professional interests include outreach, databases, and citation management instruction. Theresa has a BA in History from the University of Akron in her home town of Akron, OH, and in 2007 she received her MLIS from Kent State University. She states that “before working in libraries I spent a decade working in museums. I love old houses and the stories behind them.” Her personal hobbies include “attempting to eat my way through all of the wonderful restaurants here in Cleveland (Sokolowski’s and D’Angelo’s Pizza are two of my favorites)!”


Cecilia C. Railey is a Clinical Librarian and Assistant Professor at Kornhauser Health Sciences Library, University of Louisville. She serves as a liaison to the Second Year Medical Students as well as the Cardiology, Endocrinology, Family & Geriatric Medicine, and Oncology departments in School of Medicine. She adds, “I also provide staffing for the University of Louisville Hospital Rowntree Medical Library, so this allows me to indulge in Consumer Health, which is one of my interests!” Cecilia’s other professional interests include nursing information and continuing medical/nursing education. This Springfield, KY native has an undergraduate degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work from the University of Louisville. She received her MSLS from the University of Kentucky in 2011. Cecilia is a vintage furniture collector and states she has “fallen totally and completely in love with card catalog cabinets! I have 3 beauties that I consider my “babies”! 🙂 “


Emily Petersen is Vision Sciences Librarian and Liaison to the Kentucky College of Optometry, University of Pikeville. Her professional interests include consumer health, public health, research, and critical librarianship.  This Aurora, CO native received her MLIS from the University of Denver in 2017. She recently learned how to crochet and enjoys it. She adds, “I am a mom to 2 dogs and recently moved to Kentucky after being born and raised in Colorado.”
