Raise Scholarship Funds at the 2019 Midwest Chapter/MLA Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 4-7, 2019.
Last year, YOU did an awesome job collaborating with the Fundraising Committee to raise funds for a good cause!
When and how did you raise funds?
You donated beautifully hand-made items including an owl cowl, pillow with book pocket, handwoven baskets, and more, as well as other great items like jewelry, gift cards, and beer with assorted accoutrements for use in a silent auction. You also voted to select the humble Northern Saw Whet owl to represent the Midwest MLA Chapter. Finally, your bids raised a total of almost $1,400!
What did you raise funds for, you ask?
Your generous donations and bids funded scholarships to assist hard-working information professionals, like yourself, in attending the 2019 Midwest Chapter / MLA conference and more!
On behalf of the Fundraising Committee, I would like to thank you for your help and support.
Now, let’s build on that success!
Donate to the silent auction by August 27.
- Register your donation by contacting Anna Liss firstname.lastname@example.org or Edith email@example.com by August 27. It can be as simple as saying, “I will donate a/n ____.” (Please note: if you would like to donate a car, yacht, or small to medium-sized island, it is of vital importance that you state that it is for Anna Liss only.)
- Then, please send a photo and description of the auction item by September 3.
- Lastly, please bring the donated item to the 2019 Midwest Chapter / MLA conference, send it with a colleague, or mail it to a committee member.
Also! Bid on an owl painting! Bid on an owl painting purchased on Mackinac Island and donated to the silent auction. Learn more about it.
Or donate directly to the scholarship committee online or in person!
More details to come! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to the Fundraising Committee.
Once again, we would like to thank you! And on that note, please feel free to view a brief, cute owl video.
